The Role

Team Leader Residential Support - Children’s Home, Exmouth

£27,302 to £32,252 pa

Plus additional sleep-in payment per shift (equivalent to *£3,000 pa)

 

An experienced residential care or support worker, ready to lead a team as part of a Children’s Home? Have experience of working with children with additional needs, or a background in early years? Our team at Rolle House is growing, and we are now looking for a skilled and passionate team leader. We are a registered Children’s Home, specialising in supporting Deaf children with complex needs and are part of a wider community of the Deaf Academy in Exmouth. The Home has a distinct ethos as being nurturing and child-centred, applying therapeutic and trauma informed approaches (Thrive).

 

As Team Leader, you’ll be comfortable with sorting the day-to-day life of the home and team activities, be knowledgeable about social care regulations, and be a positive role model for others. You’ll provide effective support to our children through implementing a therapeutic approach and in following intentional social pedagogy in the care for deaf children with complex needs in the home. You’ll have an interest in childhood development and be able to apply this in child centred practice and implementing trauma informed behaviour responses.

 

In this role you’ll be sponsored to undertake further professional qualifications in Health & Social Care and BSL (British Sign Language) and in team management. Can you demonstrate:

·      NVQ level 3 in Care or in Early Years Education, ready to take on further professional qualifications for the role

·      Experience of working within a care environment and with children with complex needs

·      A caring and resilient personality who really wants to make a difference to young people’s lives

·      The drive and motivation to achieve outstanding outcomes for the young people we support, and a positive approach in leading others to do the same

*Regular sleep-ins will be required with the role but these are not contractual or guaranteed. Sleep-ins are paid at a rate of £45 per night. The minimum salary for this role with no sleep-in rate applied is £27,302pa. The salary including sleep-ins may be up to £30,302pa (or £32,252 for those at top of the pay scale).  

Salary progression is dependent on the completion of BSL qualifications and professional qualifications.
